Organic worm castings — also called vermicast — are the nutrient-rich material produced as earthworms process organic matter. Unlike synthetic fertilizers, which deliver concentrated doses of nutrients that can burn plant roots and degrade soil structure over time, worm castings release nutrients slowly and steadily as plants need them.
Key differences include:
- Microbial life: Worm castings contain billions of beneficial microorganisms per gram that actively improve soil health and plant immunity.
- Burn risk: Because castings are fully processed, they cannot chemically burn roots — even in high concentrations. Synthetic fertilizers carry this risk.
- Soil structure: Castings improve soil's water retention and aeration, making it more productive over time. Synthetic fertilizers do not.
- Application: Castings work as a soil amendment, a top dressing, or a component in potting mixes. They do not require dilution or mixing with water before use.
Our worm castings are produced through controlled vermicomposting, meaning they are not raw compost or manure. They are a finished, stable soil amendment ready to use directly in the garden.
Our worm castings are produced using 100% organic inputs with no synthetic additives, chemical accelerants, or artificial dyes. However, the term "certified organic" in the United States refers to a formal certification issued by a USDA-accredited certifying agent under the National Organic Program (NOP). If our current product listings do not display an active USDA Organic certification seal, the product has not undergone that specific third-party certification process.
Soil amendments sold as "organic" in the United States must comply with USDA NOP standards if used in certified organic production systems. If you are a commercial organic grower and need documentation about our inputs and production process before purchasing, please contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com and we will provide detailed information.
For personal home gardens, worm castings require no certification to be used safely and effectively. All product claims are based on the actual composition and production method of our castings.
Worm castings are versatile and straightforward to use. Here are the most common application methods:
- Soil amendment at planting: Mix 10–20% worm castings into your potting mix or garden bed soil before planting seeds or transplants.
- Top dressing: Sprinkle 1–2 inches of castings around the base of established plants and water in. Repeat every 4–6 weeks during the growing season.
- Seed starting: Use a blend of castings and coco coir or peat for a nutrient-rich, well-draining seed-starting medium.
- Worm casting tea: Steep 1 cup of castings in 1 gallon of non-chlorinated water for 24–48 hours, then apply as a liquid fertilizer to the root zone or as a foliar spray.
- Raised beds: Add 2–3 inches of castings to a new raised bed and mix into the top 6 inches of soil before the growing season.
There is no risk of over-applying worm castings. Unlike synthetic fertilizers, they will not damage your plants if used generously. For detailed storage and handling guidance, visit our Storage & Handling Guide.
Worm castings contain living microorganisms that are the source of their soil-health benefits. Proper storage preserves these microbes and extends the effective life of the product.
- Store in a cool, shaded location away from direct sunlight. Prolonged heat exposure can reduce microbial activity.
- Keep the castings slightly moist — not wet and not bone dry. If the bag feels dry, add a small amount of water and reseal.
- Store in the original sealed bag or a sealed container to prevent the castings from drying out completely.
- Do not freeze. Freezing kills beneficial microorganisms.
- Stored correctly, worm castings remain effective for 12–18 months.
Full storage and handling instructions are available on our dedicated Storage & Handling Guide page.
Material details for each product — including dimensions, construction materials, weight capacity, and recommended use cases — are listed on the individual product pages on our website. We strongly recommend reviewing the full product description before purchasing, particularly for raised garden beds, to confirm the product meets your space and soil volume requirements.
If you have a specific question about materials — for example, whether a planter is food-safe for edible growing, or whether a trellis is rated for outdoor year-round use — please contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com before placing your order and we will provide specific answers.
Organic worm castings are non-toxic and generally considered safe for use in gardens where children and pets are present. They contain no chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or harmful additives. However, we recommend standard garden hygiene practices — washing hands after handling any soil product and preventing direct ingestion by children or animals.
For California residents, specific Proposition 65 chemical threshold disclosures apply to some products. These are displayed on product pages and on our dedicated California Prop 65 page.
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for applicable products are available at rdy2grosoilsystems.com/pages/safety-data-sheets. If you have a specific health or safety concern, please consult the SDS for the product in question or contact us directly.
Shade cloth specifications — including available sizes, shade percentages (how much sunlight they block), and recommended crops or applications — are listed on the product pages. Different shade percentages suit different plants: leafy greens and herbs typically benefit from 30–50% shade, while fruiting vegetables such as tomatoes and peppers may require less shading during flower and fruit production.
If you need help selecting the right shade density for your specific growing setup or climate, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com and we will recommend the correct option based on your location and crop type.
Yes. Worm castings are one of the most effective soil amendments for indoor plants and potted houseplants. Because they are fully composted and odor-neutral when stored correctly, they are suitable for indoor use without causing unpleasant smells.
For indoor pots, a common application is to mix 10–15% worm castings into your potting medium, or to top-dress the soil surface with 1/2 inch of castings and water in. Castings can be applied to virtually any houseplant, including tropicals, succulents (in moderation), herbs grown on windowsills, and flowering plants.
Yes. We make every effort to display accurate product images that faithfully represent the item you will receive, including size, color, and form. For physical products such as garden beds, planters, and trellises, please review the listed dimensions carefully, as on-screen images may not convey exact scale.
For worm castings, the product is a natural material and will appear dark brown to near-black, with a fine, earthy texture. Minor variations in color between batches are normal and do not indicate any quality difference.
If you receive an item that materially differs from its product page description, contact us within 30 days of delivery at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com and we will resolve the issue promptly. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.
Shipping & Delivery
10 QuestionsWe ship exclusively within the United States. We do not offer international shipping at this time. All 50 U.S. states are eligible for delivery, though certain states have agricultural import restrictions that may affect specific product categories — particularly organic worm castings, which are classified as a soil amendment.
For state-specific shipping restrictions affecting your order, please review our State Shipping Restrictions page and our full Shipping Policy.
Our shipping rates are straightforward and transparent:
The shipping method and carrier rate displayed in your cart and at checkout is the final shipping charge. No additional handling fees are added after checkout. Free shipping is applied automatically when your cart total reaches $35.00 before taxes.
Total delivery time is the sum of our processing time plus the carrier's transit time:
- Order Processing: 1–2 business days (Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays). Orders placed before our 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time cutoff on a business day are typically processed that same business day. Orders placed after 3:00 PM EST or on weekends and holidays begin processing the next business day.
- Delivery Transit: 5–10 business days from the date of shipment, depending on your delivery address within the contiguous United States. Alaska and Hawaii may experience longer transit times.
In total, please allow 6–12 business days from the date of purchase to receive your order under normal conditions. During peak seasons — including major gardening periods in spring and early summer — processing may take up to 2 business days.
Business days are Monday through Friday. Weekends and U.S. federal public holidays do not count as business days for processing or transit purposes.
Our order cutoff time is 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST / GMT-05:00) on business days (Monday through Friday).
- Orders placed before 3:00 PM EST on a business day are typically processed that same business day and shipped within 1–2 business days.
- Orders placed at or after 3:00 PM EST on a business day will begin processing the following business day.
- Orders placed on Saturday, Sunday, or a U.S. federal holiday will begin processing on the next business day.
We ship orders via standard U.S. ground carriers, which may include UPS, FedEx, and USPS, depending on your location, the weight of your order, and carrier availability at the time of fulfillment. The carrier assigned to your shipment is determined automatically at the time of packing.
You will receive an email with your tracking number and carrier information once your order is shipped. You can also track your order at any time using our Order Tracking page.
Once your order ships, you will receive an automated shipping confirmation email at the email address provided during checkout. This email contains your tracking number and a link to follow your package's progress.
You can also track your order directly using our Order Tracking page. Enter your order number and email address to view real-time status updates.
If you did not receive a shipping confirmation email, first check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot locate it, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com or call +1 (386) 385-8474 and we will resend your tracking information.
Yes. Because organic worm castings are classified as a soil amendment and agricultural input under U.S. federal and state law, certain states regulate or restrict their importation. Key restrictions include:
- Hawaii and Alaska: USDA and state agricultural agencies impose strict regulations on importing organic matter and soil amendments. Additional documentation or permits may be required. Contact us before placing an order for delivery to these states.
- California: Worm castings sold in California must meet CDFA (California Department of Food and Agriculture) soil amendment labeling standards, including guaranteed analysis. Applicable Prop 65 disclosures are provided on our California Prop 65 page.
- Arizona: The Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) requires registration and labeling compliance for commercially sold soil amendments.
- Washington and Oregon: Both states require soil amendments to meet specific labeling and registration standards enforced by their respective Departments of Agriculture.
For the complete list of state-specific restrictions, visit our State Shipping Restrictions page. If you are unsure whether your state has any applicable restrictions, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com before ordering.
Tracking information can take 24–48 hours to update in carrier systems after a label is generated. If your tracking number shows no movement for more than 3 business days after your order shipped, it may indicate a delay with the carrier.
Please contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com with your order number and we will open an inquiry with the carrier on your behalf. If your package is confirmed lost in transit, we will either resend your order or issue a full refund — your choice. See our Shipping Policy for full details.
Address changes can only be made before your order has shipped. Once a shipping label is generated and the package is handed to the carrier, we are unable to redirect the shipment.
If you need to update your shipping address, contact us immediately after placing your order at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com or call +1 (386) 385-8474 during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST). Please include your order number in your message.
If your tracking shows "delivered" but you have not received your package, we recommend the following steps first:
- Check all exterior doors, side entrances, and any secure mail areas at your property.
- Ask neighbors in case the package was left at a nearby address by mistake.
- Wait 24 hours — carriers occasionally update tracking as "delivered" one day early.
If the package still has not arrived after 24 hours, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com with your order number. We will file a claim with the carrier and work toward a resolution. Note that Rdy2Gro Soil Systems is not responsible for packages lost due to an incorrect shipping address provided at checkout. Please verify your delivery address carefully before completing your order.

Yes. Our checkout is powered by Shopify, which uses industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption to protect all data transmitted during your purchase. Shopify is certified as a Level 1 PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant platform, which is the highest level of security certification for online payment processing.
Rdy2Gro Soil Systems does not see, access, or store your full payment card number at any point in the transaction. All payment processing is handled directly by Shopify Payments and your card issuer.
Your payment is authorized and charged at the time you complete checkout and submit your order. You will receive an order confirmation email immediately after a successful payment is processed. If your payment fails, your order will not be placed and no charge will appear on your account.
Depending on your bank or card issuer, the charge may appear as a pending authorization before it is fully settled. If you see a pending charge that does not resolve within 5–7 business days, contact your bank or reach out to us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com.
Order confirmation emails are sent automatically to the email address entered at checkout. If you did not receive one:
- Check your spam, junk, or promotions folder.
- Verify that you entered the correct email address during checkout.
- Allow up to 30 minutes for the email to arrive during high-traffic periods.
If you still have not received a confirmation after 30 minutes, please contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com or call +1 (386) 385-8474. Provide us with your name, the email used at checkout, and the approximate date and time of your purchase, and we will look up your order.
We begin processing orders quickly after they are placed. Order modifications and cancellations can only be accommodated if your order has not yet moved into the fulfillment stage.
To request a modification or cancellation, contact us immediately at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com or call +1 (386) 385-8474 during business hours. Include your order number and the change you are requesting. If we are able to cancel your order before shipment, a full refund will be issued to your original payment method.
If your order has already shipped, it cannot be cancelled. In that case, you may return the item under our 30-day return window after delivery. See our Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy for full details.
Sales tax is calculated and applied automatically at checkout based on the applicable tax rate for your delivery address under U.S. state and local tax law. Tax obligations for online retailers vary by state, and Shopify's tax engine handles these calculations in compliance with current nexus and economic nexus laws across all 50 states.
Note that some states exempt certain agricultural inputs — including soil amendments — from sales tax. If you believe a tax exemption applies to your purchase (for example, if you are a licensed commercial agricultural business), contact us before placing your order and we will advise you on next steps.
The tax amount is clearly displayed before you complete your purchase. No additional taxes are applied after checkout.
A double charge is most commonly a bank authorization hold rather than two separate payments. Some banks place a temporary pending authorization when you begin checkout and then a second charge when the order is confirmed. The pending hold typically drops off within 3–7 business days.
If the double charge persists beyond 7 business days or you believe you have genuinely been charged twice, contact us immediately at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com with your order number and a screenshot or description of the charges. We will investigate and issue a refund for any duplicate charge within 1–2 business days of confirming the error.
We occasionally offer promotional discount codes through our newsletter and social media channels. If you have a valid discount code, enter it in the discount field during checkout before completing your purchase. Codes cannot be applied retroactively to completed orders.
For bulk or wholesale inquiries — for example, if you are a commercial grower, nursery, or garden center interested in purchasing large quantities — please contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com with details about your business and the quantities you are interested in, and we will discuss available options.
Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
8 QuestionsWe accept returns within 30 calendar days from the date your order is delivered. To qualify for a return:
- The item must be unused and in its original, unopened condition (for applicable product types).
- The return request must be initiated within 30 calendar days of the delivery date shown on your tracking record.
- You must contact us first to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before sending any item back.
Full return terms, including any product-specific conditions, are detailed in our Refund Policy.
To start a return, contact our customer support team within 30 days of delivery:
- Email: contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com
- Phone: +1 (386) 385-8474 (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST)
- Contact form: rdy2grosoilsystems.com/pages/contact
In your message, include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return. We will review your request and provide you with return instructions and, where applicable, a prepaid return shipping label or the return address.
Do not ship items back without first receiving a Return Merchandise Authorization from us, as unauthorized returns may not be processed.
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, refunds are processed within 5–10 business days. The refund is issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
After we process the refund on our end, please allow an additional 3–7 business days for the amount to appear on your bank statement or card balance, depending on your financial institution's processing times. Total time from return receipt to funds appearing in your account is typically 8–17 business days in the longest scenario.
You will receive an email notification when your refund has been issued. If you have not received your refund after 17 business days of us confirming receipt, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com.
Return shipping responsibility depends on the reason for the return:
- Defective, damaged, or incorrect item: If your item arrived damaged, defective, or if we sent you the wrong product, we will cover return shipping costs and send a replacement or issue a full refund.
- Customer-initiated return (change of mind, ordered wrong product): The customer is responsible for return shipping costs in cases where the item is not damaged or defective and the return is due to a change of preference or ordering error.
We will confirm the return shipping arrangement when we issue your Return Merchandise Authorization. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
By their nature, organic soil amendments such as worm castings are perishable agricultural products. Once a bag of worm castings has been opened and used, it generally cannot be returned for hygienic and safety reasons related to U.S. agricultural import regulations.
However, if you received a product that was damaged in transit, was incorrectly labeled, or did not match the product description, we will address this on a case-by-case basis regardless of whether the product has been opened. Contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com with your order number and photos of the product, and we will work toward a fair resolution.
If your order arrives damaged — whether the packaging is torn, the product is broken, or a bag has leaked — please take the following steps as soon as possible:
- Take clear photographs of the damaged item and the shipping packaging before discarding anything.
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com with your order number and the photos attached.
We will review the damage documentation and, if the damage occurred during transit or as a result of our packaging, we will send a replacement item or issue a full refund at no cost to you. Prompt reporting helps us file a carrier claim within the carrier's required reporting window.
We do not currently offer direct product exchanges through an automated process. If you need a different item — for example, a different size garden bed or a different product entirely — the most efficient process is:
- Initiate a return for the unwanted item following the return process above.
- Place a new order for the correct item.
If your return qualifies for free return shipping (damaged or incorrect item), we will process the refund promptly so you can reorder without delay. Contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com if you need guidance on this process.
Orders can be cancelled without penalty if the cancellation request is received before the order enters the fulfillment or shipping stage. Since we process orders within 1–2 business days of placement, cancellation requests must be submitted as quickly as possible.
To request a cancellation, contact us immediately at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com or call +1 (386) 385-8474. If we can cancel before shipment, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method. If the order has already shipped, you will need to follow our standard return process once the package is delivered. Full details are in our Cancellation Policy.
Safety, Compliance & Regulations
7 QuestionsCalifornia Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings before knowingly exposing individuals to chemicals listed by the State of California as known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm — if those chemicals are present above specific threshold levels.
As a company that ships to California customers and sells products that may be classified as soil amendments under California law, we take our Prop 65 obligations seriously. Where applicable, Prop 65 warnings are displayed on the relevant product pages and on our dedicated California Prop 65 Disclosure page.
If you are a California resident and have a specific question about Prop 65 warnings for a particular product, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com.
Yes. Safety Data Sheets are available for applicable products and can be accessed at any time on our Safety Data Sheets page. SDS documents are prepared in accordance with OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) formatting requirements, where applicable.
If you cannot locate an SDS for a specific product on that page, contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com and we will provide it.
Yes. Organic worm castings are classified as a soil amendment under U.S. federal and most state agricultural laws. The USDA oversees the National Organic Program (NOP), and state departments of agriculture regulate the labeling, registration, and sale of soil amendments at the state level.
As a Florida-based business (FDACS-regulated), we comply with applicable Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services requirements. For states with additional regulatory requirements — including California (CDFA), Arizona (AZDA), Washington (WSDA), Oregon (ODA), New York (NYSDAM), and Texas (TDA) — we take steps to ensure our products meet labeling and guaranteed-analysis standards where required. For full details, visit our State Shipping Restrictions page.
Product-specific safety and material information is provided on each product listing page. Shade cloths, garden beds, planters, and trellises are physical goods intended for outdoor or gardening use, and their materials are selected based on durability and suitability for contact with soil and plant life.
If you have a specific concern about a material — for example, whether a garden bed liner or planter material is food-safe for edible crops — please contact us at contact@rdy2grosoilsystems.com before purchasing and we will provide specific material and sourcing information for that product.
